Earlier this week, Amazon announced its latest R&D project Amazon Prime Air. The company’s FAQ states, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are actively working on rules for unmanned aerial vehicles. Form a technology perspective; Amazon will be ready to enter commercial operation as soon as the necessary regulations are in place. Amazon hopes FAA rules will be in place as early as 2015.
Buying gift cards has become easier with PayPal Digital Gifts Store. Gift cards are one of the most popular presents to give during the holiday season. PayPal will be opening their doors to a new digital store called PayPal Digital Gifts store. Shoppers can purchase digital gift cards of any denomination from a variety of partner merchants. Simply enter your PayPal ID and Password and send the gift to a loved one or redeem it on the spot. A “frictionless experience that gives consumers more freedom and retailers more access” is what PayPal strives for. This is just one example of more to come from PayPal.
Cyber Monday marked the heaviest web-spending day ever for the fourth straight year. Internet retail sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving rose to almost $2 billion according to comScore Inc. Retailers showed increased sales on Cyber Monday. Visa Inc reports U.S cardholders spent $7.8 billion from Thanksgiving through to Dec 2, representing a 30% year to year increase. For Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Dec 2 marked the retailers biggest-ever online spending day.
