4 MAGENTO TRANSACTIONAL EMAILS TO CUSTOMIZE NOW

Here are the 4 transactional emails that you should be customizing.

    1. New Order Email: This is one of the most important emails in your Magento Transactional email arsenal. This is the one piece of communication which your customers rely on to make sure their order is received and that their transaction is being processed. So go ahead and add some verbiage to congratulate them on their purchase and to ensure that their transaction is being processed in a speedy manor.
    1. Shipment Update: This is the email that your customers have been waiting for. It indicates that their package has been shipped. This is also a great time to congratulate your customers on their successful purchase! Depending on how your eCommerce operations are setup, it is a great place to include a shipment tracking number and an estimated date of delivery.
    1. Remind Password: This is one of the most used transactional emails in Magento and is one of the few vehicles for providing automated customer service to your site guests 24/7. A forgot password email will also contain a unique link for your customer to reset their password, so you will want to leave the information portion of the email intact, but it is great to add your own brand/personality to the email.
  1. New Account: Welcome a new customer when they have created an account on your website. This email is the first time you have had the opportunity to communicate directly with this customer, so take advantage of first impressions! Provide the new user with account details, and add personality and flare to this email to show the user know you are excited to now have them as a customer!

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE MAGENTO TRANSACTIONAL EMAILS

Regardless of your proficiency with HTML, you can easily edit the  content in Magento transactional emails. From simply swapping out the text, to inputting new variables and changing the entire styling, you can make default email templates work for you. It is extremely important to note: you should not override any of the HTML functionality outside of the text and visual content of the email, as the templates are built to pull in specific customer information pertaining to each action and customer account.

To customize a default Magento email template, simply navigate to the Transactional Emails page in your Magento backend via the path SYSTEM > TRANSACTIONAL EMAILS, then follow these 3 easy steps:

  1. Click on ADD NEW TEMPLATE to create a new custom email template
  2. Select the default transactional email template that you wish to customize from the TEMPLATE DROP-DOWN
  3. Click LOAD TEMPLATE

You will see that the HTML code for that email now appears in the TEMPLATE CONTENT section below.

It is here that you can modify the content of the transactional email, create a new name and subject, and add any new styling in the TEMPLATE STYLES section. Remember, you should not override any of the HTML functionality outside of the text and visual content of the email, as the templates are built to pull in specific customer information pertaining to each action and customer account:
