I’m from Canada. We’re known for our poutine and maple syrup, amongst many other stereotypical items. Does this mean though that Canadian consumers, like myself, are inclined to go online to seek out these seemingly popular items? That’s a no. In today’s world we have access to data and information archives that we’ve never had before. Google search data is basically one big free voluntary census. The majority of us participate online, and without even thinking about it, add to “big data”. Cost-estimating website Fixr put together the following map featured on Business Insider, visually showing what the most Googled products in each country, sorted by continent is. This below information is based upon responses to the question “”How much does * cost in [x country].”
