[Recap] Dx3 Canada
Last week on March 6th and 7th, we exhibited at Dx3 Canada for the first time. For those of you unfamiliar with Dx3, it’s a two day expo held in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, focused on all things digital in Canada, specifically marketing, advertising and retail. Thousands of the best and brightest in Canadian digital come together to learn from 6 keynote speakers and over 40 educational sessions. This year PayPal Canada hosted a Retail Showcase to unveil a new mobile app, and there was an incubation zone for new startups looking for exposure, connections and experience. It’s a special event that helps to foster and push the Canadian digital environment forward.
Over the 2 days, our team here at Demac Media was able to network and connect with agencies, brands, and merchants as well as hear some pretty awesome speakers along the way.
One of those speakers was our CEO, Matthew Bertulli (@mbertulli), who had the opportunity to give his talk on “Building a Backend System That Sets You Up For Success“. For a recap, see the slides below:
We were excited to participate in Dx3 not only to interact with the awesome industry professionals and talk Canadian digital all day, but also share a few exciting things from our side too:
The Demac Media Canada Post Extension
Along side Canada Post, Demac Media was excited to launch our Canada Post extension at Dx3. The Demac Media Canada Post Integration for Magento takes complete advantage of all Canada Post solutions. This extension not only offers public and custom rating services, it also has support for the complete shipping flow. From rate requests, to shipping label and manifest printing, shipment cancellations, all the way to detailed package tracking, this extension has it all. You don’t even need to create an account on Canada Post. You can do it all from the Magento backend! It fully supports delivery to post offices, integration with Google maps, full tracking details and multi-shipping integration. If you truly want to take advantage of what Canada Post has to offer, this is the extension for you.
We’ll be writing another blog post to give even more details about our extension, but in the mean time you can visit the Magento Connect store to download.
An Inside Look into Canadian eCommerce
Sales sheets are so 2012…. for Dx3 we decided to do something a little different. We wanted to give attendees an inside look into Canadian eCommerce and what better way to do that than to create our very own infographic!
